This song, LaR sha Pekhawar ta kamees tor ma la rawRa has been around and very popular since a few decades, but the original version of the song has no mention in your write-up.
ReplyDeleteBut just because a famous non-Pashto speaker Ali Zafar sang it with Gul PanRa, you decided to write about it.
The original song was truly beautiful, but the modern version mentioned above is an insult to the original song, because of the stupid rap type interjection into it, quite possibly by Ali Zafar or some irresponsible pea-brain, in collaboration with him, completely destroying the Pashtun cultural norms of our art and music.
Shame on all who praise such garbage, and shame on all who walk away from the preservation on the culture, music, and art.
