A view of Women meeting
Jirga is one of the prominent component of Pashtoon Culture and code of conduct , generally called Pashtoonwali or Pukhtoonwali, considered a complete and justified code of life for all pashtoons. The pashtoon are highly expected to be respecting and observing this very code and those who disobeying are regretted as un social, pseudo social and are treated according to the Pashtoonwali in Jirga.
Jirga is council of elders sit together to solve issues like murder, theft, honor, land disputes etc in their respective communities.
Sit to gather often in an open space in the center of the community where all the resident can join, the conflicting parties, the plaintiff and dependent are heard, disputes are thoroughly discussed and culprits are punished.

In recent days the Kohistan Jirga when 5 girls and two boys were sentenced to death as they were found dancing in a room during a wedding ceremony in the area.Jirgas are consider to be the men part to participate, involve and conduct not for women to call or participate yet now the days are gone as in swat it has been validly reported about establishment of First Women Jirga
