Still can't believe that Sunaid Ahmad Dawar is no more. He was gunned down today in a terrorist attack in Waziristan along with 3 other young people. As a student in Lahore, he stood up for the rights of every marginalized community in Pakistan and was a great friend of progressive activists in the city. Later, he joined the National Democratic Movement and had plans to build a progressive party in erstwhile FATA. His death is a major blow to all progressive forces and has sent all of us in a state of shock. The state continues to use proxies to spread terror among dissenting voices. Our response must be courage and steadfastness in front of state repression. This is what we owe to Usman Lala, Sunaid Dawar and all those we have lost in this journey.
