This is often you have observed on road, specially the trucks and old buses have been well decorated and designed. This is very common in Pukhtoon Truck drivers who often refuse to drive a bus or truck having no proper decoration and the owners are compelled to make it charming for them to meet their livelihood.
Personally I have been really fascinated and attracted by these decorated heavy vehicles since my childhood and honestly saying in my early boyhood I wished I could be a truck driver with garlanded designs made on.
How and why is it so charming for viewers and wished by truck drivers you must read the article written and composed by -Matthias-Barth and enthusiastic German and M.Abdul Wasiq Eqbal from Pakistan.
The German undertook his journey, went across 11 countries including Pakistan and writes his experiences about truck arts on artcartv.blogspot.de.
In pakistan there are different trends in different regions in truck arts. In pashtoon belt most of truck drivers love to portray portraits of their favorite film stars, singers, cricketers, national heroes and Muslim leaders.
The old fashioned drivers would like to portray Musasat Shaheen, Badar Munair, Asif Khan, Yasmeen khan etc to show his class and age while comparatively young age drivers and owners like to draw sketches of Shahid khan, Imran khan, Shahid Afridi and Shah Sawar the young and handsome pashto singer is on top these days.
In national heroes Major Aziz Bhati, Colonel Sher Khan from Swabi, are very popular to be portrayed on trucks and buses specially on back sides to attract viewers and even costumers and travelers having same sentiments.
Some are surely loving to drew Islamic calligraphy from Holy Quran and Ahadiths and of course lovers of Tablighi Jamat ( Islamic preachers) and religious groups are also there you have seen written Dawat Tabligh Zinda Abad. etc.
Saddam Hussain ex and executed president of Iraq back in 90s had his times not only on the back of trucks and buses even in the hurts of the drivers and viewers but then it changed drastically for Taliban zinda abad latter on.
