Shan show On Geo and Mushahidullah Khan Ghalib Poetry

Shan show On Geo and Mushahidullah Khan Ghalib Poetry

By Abdul Moeez Jafri.

On ignorance: when geo decided to give Shan a morning show/eid special he eventually had Mushahidullah khan on. Mush knew almost all of Jalib by heart, (this was because he couldn’t afford to buy the books so he would memorise them whilst pretending to browse them for purchase)

Mushahidullah used some disdain filled queue given by Shan to deliver that particular couplet from habib jalib’s ‘nelo’:

‘tū ki nā-vāqif-e-ādāb-e-shahanshāhī thī

raqs zanjīr pahan kar bhī kiyā jaatā hai’

Then the cheeky Mushahidullah waited for a reaction. Shan was blank.

He simply moved on. To him, it was simply a standard couplet of poetry he didn’t have time for or didn’t understand. Mushahidullah looked taken aback. ‘Surely you can’t be this ignorant’ was plastered all over his face. But that was the case.

This inquirer of the presidential system option should stick to Dodging bullets on the silver screen whilst praying. I remember meeting a few young producers who said Shan was hard to work with for adverts because he refused scripts which Required him to fall after taking a punch

He felt it damaged his star power and rep. Our own Steven Seagal. Except instead of needing to befriend a North Korean despot, Shan found his mentor right here, in Imran khan.
