Construction of the rain fed dam started - January, 2012 Cost = Rs11.67bn 

Completed in 2014

This is a failed project and was first time overflowed since it’s inception in 2014.

Performance Audit Report 2016-17 states

Darawat Dam Project was approved by ECNEC at a cost of Rs. 7,554.69 million. 

 Major changes were made in the design

 Power house having capacity of 300 KW was not constructed which

resulted in heavy loss to the WAPDA

 State-land was not distributed among the landless women

 Government of Sindh did not take interest in construction of Phase-II of Darawat Dam Project being its own responsibility

 High Efficiency Irrigation System was not developed by the Government of Sindh

 EPC Contractor did not follow the design provided in the Feasibility Report

 Main contract was awarded at 137.93% higher rates from the approved cost of PC-I i.e. Rs. 3,175.20 million

 Contract was awarded without competitive bidding

Naulong Dam is an embankment dam currently under construction on the Mula River, about 30 km from Gandawah City in Jhal Magsi district of Balochistan, Pakistan. 

Feasibility studies completed in 2009 

Planned completion in 2012 remains unbuilt by 2022

Approval 1989

Project was intended to begin in 2002 &be completed in 2008 

Construction started - 2008 

Contract - July 2007. 

1st generator - commissioned in April 2018 

Project - completed in August 2018

Construction started - May 2012. Planned to be completed in 3 years, 

Project heavily delayed, increased cost from an estimate of Rs17 Billon to a revised Rs 47.7 Billion in 2019. Around 51% of the construction work completed in 2018.

But none of the new Hydel Project was started between 2013-2018, Even few projects are still not completed started by PPP
