Sepah Afridi, Khyber Pass, From The Tribes On Our Frontier Collection, 1880's (c).

It's Father to Malik Sher Muhammad Khan Afridi Chief of Sepah Tribe Tirah Khyber around mid 1880's. Almost equipped with all the essential of a traditional flighter less a Jezzail Musket, he is seated showcasing a fine medium size Khyber Knife or Khyber Dagger commonly called as "Khyberi Churray" tucked-in a cloth Kamabraband  or cloth Shawl / "Saa der / Chader" and a longer Khyberi Churray cum Talwaar resting besides his wooden chair non local design.

Resting on his right side is a medium size round shaped four spiked defensive heavy metallic shield. The Zareen Golden Kulla or Straw Made Kulla was not then adopted by the Hill Tribesmen in Khyber and instead used to wear cloth "Patkaye" around the head some time colour stripe in design.

The waist coat in black is something different than local attire and was then probably worn on ceremonial occasion by the noblemen, elders or Maliks or man of some social standing as seen in this photo. His Son Malik Sher Muhammad Khan Afridi Chief of Sepah was mentioned by Colonel Sir Robert Warburton in his famous book "18 Years in Khyber".

Malik Saleem Khan Afridi Chief of Sepah was his father and representated Khyberis in negotiations in 1839 with deposed Ameer Afghanistan Shah Shuja, and Governor Peshawar Pablo Crescendo Avitabile Alias Abu Tabeila at Ali Mardan Garden Retreat then a Sikh era Military Headquarters in Peshawar.
